The game was first released for Microsoft Windows and OS X in January 2016, which followed a year-long early access development period. Hence his quest for absolution.Darkest Dungeon is a roguelike role-playing video game developed and published by Red Hook Studios. But someone lied to him, they didn't mentioned the woman and the child to Dismas. My guess is : The carriage was a contract, a bloodletter. Dismas, the thief that got crucified along with Jesus in the Bible, so.yeah, the repentance for a sin he's committed it's probably engraved in its very creation, from his name to his story. His official name, Dismas, comes from St. It explains quite well why he wants to go in a horrid place like the darkest dungeon, though. Originally posted by Darth Grin:Yeah, I agree with the Abomination's explanation, however. If he really wanted to kill and rob whatever person was in it, he'd just go "meh" and take their belongings, but here.he's traumatized. Maybe it was for vengeance, maybe the child actually was his son and was trying to protect or rescue him, but he definitely didn't expect to see the woman and child in the carriage, and we can see it in his "oh ♥♥♥♥" face when he founds them. His modus operandi hints at the will not to rob, but to KILL whoever was in the carriage. Furthermore, he shoots without reserves into the carriage. When he slits his throat it's actually pretty far away from the carriage, so we can assume that he dragged or jumped unto the pilot to perpetrate his violence. Not happy about it, he shoots him twice again in the chest and stomach. In the comic, however, the Highwayman doesn't "rob" the people in the carriage. So, for robbing a carriage, you should bring a friend, enforce violence, do not kill if possible (killing is always messy and leads to troubles), take the gold and trinkets, run away. I mean, a robbery should be done with the best risk-to-reward gaining possible. The Highwayman.I'm not really convinced that the one he's doing is a normal robbery. Yeah, I agree with the Abomination's explanation, however. He feels that he killed the boy by bringing him into fire, and he goes to the Dungeon. But upon closer inspection, he realized that it was an artiliary marker and was shot. I think that the flag he was going to was a signal for his side of the battle. Then, the MAA and the kid are blasted by artiliary. After being stabbed by an assailant, he dispatches him and looks at the flag which he can see is green. He seems tobe walking toward a siloutte of a flag/marker. It appears that he is on a battlefield, carrying a boy or fellow soldier. Update: The MAA- I am confused with this one. He then goes to the Darkest DUngeon in an attempt at redemption, or suicide, for the crime he committed. Looking into the lifeless eyes of a child, he becomes struck with remorse and grief. Then he hears something in the carraige, and he shoots in it. After killing the pilot, he has little emotion as it seems he knows what hes doing. Highwayman- He starts to rob a carraige, by his confidence it is presumed that he is experienced. Thus, he goes to the darkest dungeon to use his monster form for good, to to be slaughtered like the abomination he is. After this experience, he decides that his brand makes him unable to continue in society. Feel free to post whta you thought about them.Ībomination- After being branded by some sort of heretics/religous cult, he transforms into his beast form and kills them. I think that the comics explain WHY the heroes decided to go the Darkest Dungeon. I am so excited to see the new Darkest Dungeon comics! Do I started a thread to explain my interpretation of them.
